Provide leadership and vision to the organization by assisting the General Manager and Human Resource Manager  with the development of long range and annual plans, and with the evaluation and reporting of the progress on plans Communicates with  and promotes business development with existing and potential clients and ensures professionalism with all personnel in Survey Department Writes or directs the writing of descriptions of land to satisfy legal requirements Appears as expert witness in court in cases involving land or boundary disputes Monitors new technology and evaluates and recommends purchases of new equipment and supplies Researches previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence and other records to obtain data needed for surveys Determines methods and procedures for establishing or re-establishing survey control Keeps accurate notes, records and sketches to describe and certify work performed Coordinates findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients and others concerned with project Assumes legal responsibility for work Prepares and submits job status reports as required, to include job numbers, budgeted amount, amount spent, duration of each project,  and all pertinent data and information to ensure profitability of each survey Reports directly to General ManagerSkills and Experience:Experience in business management, planning and recruitment of personnel  A minimum of 1-3 years experience as an RPLS, preferably in the oil and gas industries Must be registered as an RPLS in the State of Texas Registration in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisiana, a plus Proven skills in business  management Demonstrated ability to work with customers and owners Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Effective problem solving and mediation skills Demonstrated ability to share skills and knowledge with others Proficiency with office computer equipment and software Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
